New ICS Chair
A long-serving public servant has been appointed as the first Independent Chair of the Frimley Health and Care Integrated Care System (ICS).
Andrew Lloyd, currently the chair of NHS Surrey Heath Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and previously the chief executive of Rushmoor Borough Council, has taken up his new role.
The ICS is a partnership of the many health and social care organisations which plan, buy and provide health and social care, from Slough in the north to Farnham in the south, and which are working with the local community to create healthier communities that are fit for the future.
In his time at Surrey Heath, Andrew has been an ICS board member, playing an integral role in the continued development of the ICS and the relationships between its many partner organisations.
Fiona Edwards, Lead for the Frimley Health and Care ICS, said: “Following the completion of the application and selection process for our Independent Chair I am delighted to announce that Andrew Lloyd will be taking up this role.
“To have Andrew become our Independent Chair provides continuity and maintains his great contribution to our work so far.”
Mr Lloyd joined Surrey Heath CCG in 2017 after retiring from Rushmoor Borough Council, where he had served for 28 years – eight as an environmental health officer and 20 as chief executive.
He has lived within what is now the ICS area for nearly 40 years.
Following his appointment, Mr Lloyd said: “It is a real privilege to be able to be at the centre of the changes taking place in health and social care at such a crucial time.
“I have been very fortunate to be able to serve local people in a variety of roles throughout my career and I am delighted that this latest opportunity allows me to continue to do so.
“It is especially gratifying that I am able to continue to serve the community in the area where I live and that I know so well.”
