Know where you go for your minor injury

The Minor Injuries Unit at Brants Bridge, Bracknell, RG12 9RT, is available for all patients who live in Bracknell Forest, Slough, Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, Surrey Heath and North East Hampshire and Farnham. People can be seen through its walk-in service or with a booked appointment through calling 111

Wherever possible we would ask that residents call ahead and make an appointment via NHS 111. This ensures that you will see the most appropriate person to meet your needs and enables us to maintain social distancing on the site.

To help you know where to go, minor injuries include conditions such as the following:

  • Sprains and strains
  • Suspected broken limb
  • Minor head injuries
  • Cuts and grazes
  • Bites and stings
  • Minor scalds and burns
  • Wound infections

Anyone with a life-threatening condition should call 999.

Kirstine Hooper, Clinical Services Manager at One Medical Group, said: “We know that it can be a worry for people when suffering from a minor injury but did you know that you can be seen and treated much faster at the minor injuries unit than if you went to A&E?

“We are open 365 days of the year, with X-Ray available Sunday to Friday. We can help you if you have injured yourself.”

Dr Huw Thomas, Clinical Chair for NHS Frimley Clinical Commissioning Group, said: “The Minor Injuries Unit at Bracknell is a fantastic facility for our patients. You can beat the queues at A&E and be seen quickly by a qualified healthcare professional.

“We know it can be unclear sometimes on where to go when you need support. So always call NHS111 first to be directed to the most appropriate service for you.”

If you are registered with a Bracknell Forest GP practice, or you are a Bracknell Forest resident, you can continue to access a booked appointment for minor illness through your GP practice, with appointments available at the Urgent Care Centre but also at other local sites. We would like to remind residents that they can also seek advice for minor conditions from your pharmacist, or from

Patients are asked to ensure that they wear a face mask when at the Minor Injuries Unit and maintain social distancing.
