Vaccination journey on the national news

Following the initial vaccination delivery to the most at-risk groups, young people categorised as being 'clinically extremely vulnerable' are now being invited to make their appointments.

Vaccination services are contacting people under 65 with a range of health conditions to offer them their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

One such person is Hope Stevens, 22, from Farnham, who visited the vaccination centre in Farnham Hospital on Friday, February 12, after being invited to make an appointment. Hope was invited as she has Crohn's disease, a lifelong condition characterised by inflammation of the digestive system.

Hope's appointment was recorded by a team from BBC News, who are compiling a report on younger people being vaccinated because of their serious health conditions.

The report was due to be broadcast on the BBC Six O'Clock News and Ten O'Clock News in the coming days.
